This expressive single-movement piece was written by Puccini 'in one night' as a memorial to the Duke of Aosta. The title 'Chrysanthemums reflects the plaintive and somewhat sorrowful nature of the piece as Chrysanthemums are the Italian flowers of mourning. The original string quartet version of 'I crisantemi' is presented here as full score and instrumental parts (21 pages in total).
